The 3M Half Marathon and Relay was this past Sunday, January 30. The race winds through 13.1 miles of various Austin communities, from north to central Austin. The fast, mostly downhill race is a favorite for Austin runners, but attracts people from all over the world. The race finishes with a jaunt through the University of Texas campus and ends at Waterloo Park.
Also right around the corner is the Livestrong Austin Marathon and Half Marathon on February 20. This event encompasses running, music and quintessential Austin streets. Starting at the Capitol and making its way through downtown, this race goes along beautiful tree-lined streets and charming neighborhoods. And there is the music, lots and lots of live music along the course.
If you need a little more time to train, there is the Zooma Half Marathon in April that benefits CARE and Austin Lifeworks. The Zooma Women’s Running Series, which is open to men and women, is all about the celebration of running with mini spa treatments, yummy food and fun music. Not to mention, this race starts at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines. What better excuse to book a room for the weekend and pamper yourself after the race?
