Looking for something unusual to do this weekend? Why not gather some friends or enlist your family to take part in Austin’s Citywide Scavenger Hunt? Organized by local company Competition Unlimited, the event is this Saturday, January 22, 2011 and starts at 3 p.m.
Think you know a lot about Austin communities? Meet at Freebirds on South Lamar and see how well you know this town. The premise of Competition Unlimited events is that competition is a great way to not only have fun, but also come to a better understanding of yourself and your teammates.
Teams can be any size, but the recommended number is four people. Scavenge for unusual items, solve puzzles and take pictures as your team scurries around Austin trying to be the first ones to make it to the finish line. The final destination is Red’s Porch on South Lamar where teams will compete in a final round to try to end up with the highest score.
Team members can be any age, so bring along the family. The registration fee is $12.50 per person and teams can register online. There will be celebrity judges to see who has the best Austin insider information along with a wide range of other skills (there’s mention of the best homemade brownies). Sounds like a fun way to spend the weekend!
