Austin is the Live Music Capital where flip flops are the shoe of choice and “Keep Austin Weird” is the motto. These things are not usually synonymous with palatial estates and high end neighborhoods. Yet, Austin has some of the best luxury real estate properties in the state.

The rename to Lady Bird Lake, however, is appropriate. The former First Lady saved this iconic part of Austin from being another place to dump trash in the 1970s. Lady Bird Johnson created the Town Lake Beautification Committee in the early ‘70s and turned what had become a polluted eyesore into the beloved recreational center it is today.
Town Lake has over 193 miles of well maintained gravel trails that criss-cross the center of Austin. Whether you like to run the trails, row the river, or enjoy the scenery, Town Lake offers diversions for every skill level.
